Expat Mortgage Cases

The Case Studies here are drawn from cases we have worked on. Each one sets out the client’s circumstances, the brief and the constraints, the way we approached the lender market, and what completed at the other end. Names and identifying details are anonymised; the structural decisions, the income and currency considerations, and the technical work are real.

The cases are organised across the mortgage types we specialise in: residential purchases and remortgages, buy-to-let in personal name and through limited company structures, holiday let, foreign national residential, and high-net-worth lending including private bank arrangements. They span the countries our clients live in, from the UAE and Singapore to Switzerland, Spain, Australia, and Hong Kong.

The intent is not to prescribe what works in any specific case. Every household, every income mix, every property, and every lender market shifts the answer. The intent is to show the kind of structural thinking that goes into arranging a UK mortgage from overseas, and to give a reader in a similar situation a sense of what is possible and what to expect.
